tilt and turn window
A tilt and turn window is equipped with two opening and closing mechanisms. It can be tilted inward on its horizontal axis and opened fully inward by swinging on its vertical axis. This type of window was invented in Germany where it is called a Drehkipp-Fenster, a word that combines drehen (turn) with kippen (tilt).
