kaza-mado

Synonym:  kaza-ana kaza-nuki

A window installed for ventilation under floors or roofs. The term kaza-mado is often used when referring to an opening (air hole) made on the foundation below the exterior walls for ventilation. It may sometimes refer to a windcatcher (bâdgir), a window tower for natural ventilation seen in Pakistan, etc.
