This is a room in a student dormitory at Aalto University (formerly the Helsinki University of Technology), which is located in a suburb of Helsinki. The large square window is adjoined by a ventilation window, framed with pine, and set in a red brick façade. The sill has a slit to let the warm air from the under-window radiator through and invites one to study at the window-side desk while taking in the view.
