Arch (or arched) window
A window with an arched upper edge. The development of arch construction in ancient Rome enhanced architectural strength and durability, establishing this window form as a structural alternative to rectangular windows. Notable examples include the semi-circular arched window, commonly used in Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, and the lancet window, with its pointed apex formed by two intersecting curves, widely adopted in Gothic architecture. Also called arched window.
